Notice to Contractors – Project 3-17, NEW Prosperity Center Storm Sewer Realignment

Notice is hereby given by the Board of Public Works of the City of Kaukauna that it will receive sealed bids for Project 3-17, NEW PROSPERITY CENTER STORM SEWER REALIGNMENT, until 6:00 p.m. on the fifteenth (15th) day of May, 2017 in the City Clerk/Treasurer’s office, Municipal Services Building, in the City of Kaukauna. The Board of Public Works will open bids in the Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on the same date. The bids shall be labeled “PROJECT 3-17, NEW PROSPERITY CENTER STORM SEWER REALIGNMENT”

The estimated major quantities of Project 3-17 are listed below:

Furnish and install erosion control

Provide Clearing/Grubbing

Strip and re-spread topsoil, 350 cubic yards

Furnish and install unclassified excavation for ditch, 950 cubic yards

Remove and Re-use 120 LF of 30 ” RCP or ALT: Furnish and install 30″ storm sewer, 120 lineal feet

Furnish and install 24″ storm sewer, 128 lineal feet

Furnish and install 12″ storm sewer, 20 lineal feet

Furnish and install 72″ diameter storm manhole, 5 vertical feet

Furnish and install 60″ diameter storm manhole, 8 vertical feet

Furnish and install 30″ apron endwall, 1 each

Remove existing storm sewer, 470 lineal feet

Furnish and install heavy riprap over HR fabric, 60 tons
Furnish and install turf restoration with matting

The above work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the specifications and contract now on file with the City Clerk/Treasurer. Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility must be on file in the City Clerk’s office by 4:30 p.m. on May 10th, 2017. **PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF JANUARY 1, 2017 ALL BIDDERS INCLUDING SUBCONTRACTORS MUST SUBMIT BIDDER’S PROOF OF RESPONSIBILITY FORMS**

No bid can be received or considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, or a bid bond in equal amount payable to the City as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within ten (10) days from the date of the lowest responsible bidder’s bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. Plans and detailed specification, together with the form on contract and bond, and questionnaire to show bidder’s proof of responsibility in accordance with Section 66.0901 (2), Wisconsin Statutes, are on file and may be obtained at the City Clerk/Treasurer’s office or download at www.bpserviceplanroom.com.

The board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
