2012 Elections
The Elections for 2012 are as follows: February
21, 2012, for County Supervisor #11, Wards 9 and 10, portion
of Ald. Dist. #4; April 3, 2012, Spring Election and
Presidential Primary, August 14, 2012, Partisan Primary, and
November 6, 2012, Presidential Election.

City Wide Rummage Sale is September 17, 2011.
Spring Election
The polling place for the Spring Election on April 3, 2012, is
the Community Room, Municipal Services Building, 201 W. Second
Street, Kaukauna.
Board of Review
The Board of Review for the City of Kaukauna will meet to hear
complaints and to review the 2011 assessment roll on Wednesday,
June 8, 2011, at 9:00 A.M. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal
Services Building, 201 W. Second Street, Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
Open Book
The 2011 Assessment Roll for the City of Kaukauna has been
completed and the books will be open for inspection at City Hall,
Municipal Services Building, 201 W. Second Street, Kaukauna, in the
Council Chambers on Friday, May 20, 2011, from 10:00 A.M. to Noon
and 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

The elections for 2011 are:
Primary - February 15, 2011.
Spring Election - April 5, 2011.
Property Taxes
The first installment or full payment of your 2010 real estate
taxes and personal property taxes are due by January 31, 2011.
Payment can be mailed or paid in person at the City of Kaukauna
Clerk/Treasurer's Office, 201 W. Second Street, P.O. Box 890,
Kaukauna, WI 54130. An alternate site for paying taxes for City of
Kaukauna taxpayers is Unison Credit Union - either their south side
or north side office.
Council Meetings
The City Council of the City of Kaukauna meets on the first and
third Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Numerous licenses are available at the Clerk/Treasurer's
Office.
Dog Licenses
City Ordinance requires all dogs in the City over five months of
age to be rabies-vaccinated and licensed. The rabies certificate
from a licensed veterinarian must be shown at the time the license
is purchased. The license is valid from January 1, 2011, through
December 31, 2011. If you no longer own a dog, please contact this
office at 766-6300.

is purchased. The fee is $5.00 for each neutered male dog or spayed
female dog or $10.00 for each unneutered male dog or unspayed
female dog, if purchased by March 31. Beginning April 1, a $5.00
late fee penalty is charged. The license is valid from January 1st
through December 31st. The license is available at the
Clerk/Treasurer's Office, City Hall, 201 W. Second Street,
Kaukauna, Wisconsin, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If

Notary Public
Notary Public service is available at the Clerk/Treasurer's Office.
Please bring along a drivers license or identification card.
How do I receive an absentee ballot?
Absentee ballots must either be mailed or you can stop in the
Clerk/Treasurer's office and vote in person at the office. You
cannot stop in the office and pick one up. A request must be
received for an absentee ballot. Ballots are available three weeks
before an election. Absentee ballot request form available at
www.state.wi.org.
How do I register to vote?
You can register to vote in the Clerk/Treasurer's Office, Monday
through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, or on election days at the
polling place. You must have some form of identification such as a
driver's license, I.D. card, or a bill with your address.
How many alderpersons does the City have?
The City Council consists of eight alderpersons- two for each
aldermanic district. One alderperson is elected from each
aldermanic district each year for a two-year term.
How many districts are in the City?
The City has four aldermanic districts.
How many wards are in the City of
Kaukauna?
The City consists of eleven wards. The portion of the CIty in
Outagamie County has Wards 1 through 10 and the portion of the City
in Calumet County has Ward 11.
What class is the City?
Kaukauna is a City of the Third Class.
What do I need to get a dog license?
You must provide proof that your dog received the rabies
vaccination. Dog licenses are available at the Clerk/Treasurer's
office. The fee is $5.00 for spayed/neutered and $10.00 for
unspayed and unneutered. If license is not obtained by April 1st, a
$5.00 late fee is assessed.
What form of government does the City
have?
The City of Kaukauna has the Mayor/Council form of government.
What if I'd like my property assessment value
reviewed?
The City's contracted Assessor places the assessment value on the
property. If, after talking with the Assessor, you do not agree
with the assessed value, your next step is to complete and
"Objection Form." This form must be filed before you appear at the
Board of Review meeting. The meeting is usually scheduled during
the month of May (call the City Assessor or the Clerk/Treasurer for
additional information).
